Pleasurable Surprised Visit From Ambassador Neelix.

Chaplain's Log: Stardate 43769.9

I had a pleasurable visit with Ambassador Neelux, aside from the mess hall fiasco. I'll have to remember to send a thank you message to Admiral Janeway and apologize incase I interrupted her duties.

Ambassador Neelix brought to my attention that different spiritual and philosophical leaders approached him asking to connect with the Interstellar Council of Faith and Philosophy here. He assumed because I attended the Convocation that I had the authority to admit them. I don't, though I'm a Starfleet Chaplain and do hold a seat on the Council it is only as a Federation representative with no voting power as Starfleet has a strict policy against interference in religion.I told him I would try and setup a meeting for him with one of the Betazoid Matriarch.

Senior Chaplain / Science Officer, USS Tanasi

Chaplain Representative to the Interstellar Council of Faith and Philosophy

Subject: Diplomatic Inquiry & Introduction: Ambassador Neelix of the Delta Quadrant

Your Eminence,

Greetings and warm personal regards from the USS Tanasi.

I am writing to formally introduce Ambassador Neelix, who serves as the Federation Ambassador to the Delta Quadrant. During a recent visit aboard our vessel while en route home, Ambassador Neelix brought forward a request on behalf of several spiritual and philosophical leaders from various Delta Quadrant species who have expressed a keen interest in joining the Interstellar Council of Faith and Philosophy.

Because the Council operates independently on Betazoid and hosts the annual Convocation separate from United Federation of Planets governance, I explained that Starfleet maintains no formal authority or jurisdiction over Council membership. However, as Earth’s designated representative on the Council and a Starfleet Chaplain, I offered to facilitate this direct connection.

Ambassador Neelix is seeking to establish formal contact with your office to discuss how Delta Quadrant spiritual representatives might engage with the Council and potentially participate in upcoming Convocations.

I would be most grateful if your office could schedule an initial subspace audience with Ambassador Neelix at your earliest convenience to discuss this matter further.

With highest respect and peace

LtJG Joseph Villalobos

Interfaith Chaplain
